How To Use MEE6 Bot Maker

Learn how to use MEE6 Bot Maker (Beta) to create custom features for your Discord server with AI, test them in a sandbox, and deploy them. No coding needed.

MEE6 Bot Maker lets you create your own features for your Discord server, like games, commands and automations, by describing them in plain words. No coding needed. This article covers how to open Bot Maker, start from a ready-made module or build your own, test it, and put it live on your server.

⚠️ This is an experimental Beta feature that may change or be removed as we learn from it. We'll be actively monitoring as you try it out: your feedback will directly shape where it goes next. Share it with us in our Support Server.

Before you start:

  • Bot Maker is being rolled out gradually, so it may not be available on your server yet.

  • During the Beta, Bot Maker requires MEE6 Premium on your server. Premium alone doesn't guarantee access yet, as the rollout is still in progress. Requirements may change once Bot Maker leaves Beta.

  • Only the server owner and members with the Administrator permission can use Bot Maker and deploy modules. For security reasons, Bot Masters don't have access.

ℹ️ Each feature you create in Bot Maker is called a module. A module can add slash commands, react to events such as a member joining, and has its own settings.

1. Open MEE6 Bot Maker

Go to your MEE6 Dashboard, select your server, and click MEE6 Bot Maker in the sidebar.

MEE6 Bot Maker in the Dashboard menu -> right below the "Dashboard" link.

The Bot Maker home has two parts:

  • Left panel: describe your idea in the I'd love a bot that… box to build a new module.

  • Right panel: the Library of ready-made modules, plus My modules (everything you've created) and On this server (what's installed on the selected server).

The server you're working on is shown in the top-right corner. Use that dropdown to switch servers.

2. Start From a Library Module

The Library is the fastest way to get started. Search for a module or filter by category (Commands & replies, Games, XP & economy, Moderation and more), then click a module to open it.

On the module page you'll find:

  • Prompt: the description the module was built from.

  • What else does it do?: how members and admins use it.

  • Commands it adds: the slash commands that will appear on your server.

  • Try it: a live preview you can play with (see step 4).

From here, click Deploy to add the module to your server as it is, or click Remix module to get your own copy and change anything you like.

3. Build Your Own Module

On the Bot Maker home, type your idea in the I'd love a bot that… box and click Let's build. Not sure where to start? Click one of the suggestions under A little inspiration. You can also attach a picture with the paperclip icon.

The AI Builder then writes your module, tests it and saves it as v1. You can follow its progress in the chat, and it will tell you when it's done.

💡 The more specific your idea, the better the result. Say what should trigger it (a command, a member joining, a message), where it should post, and what the message should include. For example: Greet every new member in a channel with an embed showing their avatar, a welcome line with their mention, and which member number they are.

4. Test It in the Sandbox

The Try it tab is a test server where you can use your module before it goes live. Everything here runs in a sandbox, so nothing touches your real server.

  • Use the buttons next to RUN to trigger the module (for example A member joins, or a slash command like /suggest), or type a message in the box below.

  • Click Demo to play a short demo of the module in action.

  • Use Testing as (bottom left) to switch which test member you're acting as.

5. Make Changes

To change something, describe it in the What would you like to change? box on the left, for example Make the embed purple and add a line telling them to read #rules. The AI Builder updates your module and saves it as a new version (v2, v3 and so on). Test it again in Try it to check the result.

Every version is listed in the Versions tab. Click a version to see what changed, then use Restore to go back to it, or Deploy to put that version live. The version running on your server is tagged LIVE.

If you're curious, The code tab shows the code behind your module. You don't have to do anything with it, and you cannot change it manually. The code is just for your reference.

6. Deploy to Your Server

When you're happy with the result, click Deploy in the top-right corner.

  1. In Settings, fill in every field marked with * (for example, which channel to post in).

  2. In Commands, choose who can use each command the module adds. By default, anyone can use them. This works the same way as permissions on your other MEE6 commands.

  3. Click Deploy (or Add to server for a Library module).

You'll see a confirmation that the module is live, and the module page will show which version is running, for example Live · v2.

7. Manage Your Modules

Once a module is live, open it and click Deployment in the top-right corner:

  • Settings: change the module's settings for the current server.

  • Pause: temporarily stop the module. Its settings and data are kept.

  • Remove: remove the module and its data from this server. The module itself is kept.

From the Bot Maker home, you can also:

  • Open On this server to see every module installed on the selected server, from you, MEE6 and other creators. Use the toggle to turn a module on or off, or the icons next to it to change its settings or remove it.

  • Open My modules to see all the modules you've created across your servers. Turn on Live only to show just the ones that are live.

Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe what you want and the AI Builder writes the code for you.

Does testing affect my real server?
No. The Try it tab runs in a sandbox. Nothing reaches your server until you deploy.

Can I undo a change?
Yes. Open the Versions tab, click an earlier version and click Restore.
