MEE6 cannot give and remove roles or kick and ban users when its role is too low in the Discord hierarchy.
Discord itself will block the bot from doing so. In such cases you see this or similar error:
To solve it, follow the steps below.
Desktop:
- Right click on your server > Server Settings > Roles.
- Find the MEE6 role and make sure it has at least Manage Roles permission, or the Administrator permission.
- Move the MEE6 role above the role it's supposed to manage and save changes:
Mobile App:
- Tap and hold on the server, or press 3 dots next to the server name > Settings > scroll down to Roles
- Find the MEE6 role and make sure it has at least Manage Roles permission, or the Administrator permission.
- Press Reorder to change the order of the roles.
- Move the MEE6 role above the role it's supposed to manage:
If you have a custom bot (Bot Personalizer), it has its own, separate role that should be above other roles. Additionally, make sure that it has Administrator or at least Manage Roles permission enabled.
